Time Management Tips for Web Designers

Time

Web designers can find many online tools and tips to help them to efficiently manage their time and organize their design work. We believe it is important to start by first acknowledging your working style, pick the methods or tools you are most comfortable with, and consistently measure the progress of your work.

At CodeMyIMAGE, we are also a team aimed at improving our efficiency by finding the best methods to manage our development projects. We hope our tips are helpful to get you started in better managing your time:

  1. Start by making a plan of each day’s activities. Keep in mind this time management matrix and know your priorities: what is truly important and urgent; what is important but can be solved later; what may not be important but urgent when it comes up spontaneously, and what are the time wasters that should be the last on the to do list.
  2. Pick up a time tracking tool that can help you follow your work plan. There are plenty of time management tools available in the software market or consider a web-based tool. Select the one that is the most suitable and meets your requirements. For example, you may choose a simple application like Toggl for scheduling time and tasks, or a web-based project management solution like Cashboard.
  3. Always strive to improve your multi-tasking skills. It might seem overwhelming at first, but managing various web design projects at the same time is the best way to avoid delays, stay on schedule and keep you from postponing the tasks that you like the least.
  4. Take a break for inspiration. Use every free moment you have to feed your creativity – we have learned that 80% of one’s results come from 20% of one’s efforts!  Much of your design inspiration may come from the short breaks you take to read or visualize things that are not directly related to your web design projects.

Efficiently managing your work time is the key to feeling confident in the quality, creativity, and effectiveness of your design projects. Every web designer can be successful at time management if their effort is focused and well planned!

The Savvy Web Content Manager

savvy

Savvy is an easy-to-use, fully customizable content management system and an excellent solution to having a SEO optimized website. Developed by Savvy Software, it is a powerful tool if you are looking to create a new website or convert an existing one.

The CodeMyIMAGE team has been developing different projects from web design clients requiring Savvy CMS integration. Be assured that our experience with the Savvy CMS has been nothing less than positive due to its powerful capabilities and ease of implementation, some of which we are sharing here:

  1. Savvy is an easy-to-use CMS software that is suitable for almost anyone who is non-technical and who may have little or no experience with CMS solutions. Content can be easily added and modified by all contributors.
  2. Savvy’s editing tools allow non-technical users not only the ability to update their web pages, but also to make them search engine optimized. The Savvy CMS gives control over meta data which will make both your client and Google happy.
  3. Expansion is also a powerful Savvy capability that supports your client’s ability to gain an even higher return on investment. No web content manager will provide everything your client needs, so you need to choose a CMS tool that has the ability to be customized and expanded in order to add a host of functionalities to your client’s website.
  4. Savvy is about design flexibility. Content management software should be designer friendly and help you create a desired image on the web.

In other words, Savvy is an excellent solution to resolve the need for customizable, easy-to-use and SEO optimized content management software. Your client will be thrilled to hear of a software solution that requires little integration effort at a reasonable price!
